Music Concerts

Christina is the author of two stories that have been set to music and turned into chamber music concerts for children.  The music for both pieces was composed by Alexis Alrich, who harmoniously combined Chinese and Western classical instruments.  The pieces were commissioned by Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, a classical music outreach charity, and premiered at the Asia Society.

The Shadow in the Moon

Along with a narrator, the instruments featured are: piano, violin, erhu (Chinese violin), clarinet, dizi (Chinese flute), cello, guzheng (Chinese harp), and percussion.

The Beat of the Dragon Boat

Along with a narrator, the instruments featured are:  viola, harp, suona (Chinese horn), sheng (Chinese reed instrument), double bass, and percussion.
